About this tool
Adding a few words turns a photo into a social post, an event announcement, a labelled diagram or a quote card. This editor keeps it simple: type, style and drag the text exactly where you want it on the picture, with as many separate text blocks as you need, each with its own look.
Readability is what makes text on photos work. A thin dark outline or a soft shadow lifts white text off a busy background, and a semi-transparent box behind the words guarantees contrast whatever the picture shows. Text wraps automatically to the line width you choose, and the size is measured relative to the picture, so it looks the same whether the photo is small or huge.
The caption preset sets up the classic look of bold white capitals with a black outline at the top and bottom, ready for your own words. The finished picture is saved at its full original resolution.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own fonts?
The menu uses fonts available on most computers. If a font is missing on your device, the browser substitutes a similar one, and what you see in the preview is what gets saved.
How do I move text precisely?
Drag it with the mouse or a finger, or click the picture and use the arrow keys: each press moves the selected text a little, and holding Shift moves it further.
Will the picture lose quality?
No. The text is drawn onto the full-size original. Choose PNG for completely lossless output; JPG and WebP are saved at high quality.
Is my text remembered?
Your text blocks and styles are saved in this browser so you can reuse them on the next picture. The pictures themselves are not stored.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Everything is drawn in your browser and the file is saved straight to your device.
