How to use the QR Code Generator

  1. Pick what the code should hold: a link, plain text, Wi-Fi login, contact card, email, SMS or phone number.
  2. Fill in the fields. The preview updates as you type.
  3. Adjust size, colours and error correction, or add a small logo in the centre.
  4. Download as PNG or SVG, or copy the image straight to your clipboard.

About this tool

A QR code is a square grid of dark and light modules that a phone camera turns back into text. That text can be a web address, a Wi-Fi login, a contact card or a ready-made email or text message, and the phone offers the matching action. This generator builds the correct format for each of those, so a guest can join your Wi-Fi or save your details with a single scan.

Codes are created in your browser and never stored, which matters when the content is a Wi-Fi password or personal phone number. Unlike many free generators, these are static codes: the data is inside the image itself, with no redirect service that can expire, track scans or start charging later.

For print, download the SVG: it stays sharp at any size. Keep strong contrast between foreground and background, leave the quiet zone around the code, and test-scan it before printing hundreds of copies. Adding a logo automatically switches to the highest error correction so the code still reads with its centre covered.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. What you type or open is never sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The content is encoded directly in the pattern, so the code works for as long as the image exists. There is no link shortener or account behind it.

Is my Wi-Fi password or contact info sent anywhere?

No. The code is drawn by JavaScript in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged or saved.

Which error correction level should I choose?

Medium (15%) is a good default. Use Quartile or High for codes that may get scuffed, printed small or partly covered. Higher levels make the grid denser, so keep the content short.

PNG or SVG?

PNG works everywhere and is ideal for screens, documents and messages. SVG is a vector file that scales to any size without blurring, so it is better for print, signs and design software.

Can I use coloured QR codes?

Yes, as long as the foreground is clearly darker than the background. Light codes on dark backgrounds are not supported by some older scanner apps, so the tool warns you about that.
